Steve started playing classical guitar at the age of 12, performing in the Combined Secondary Schools Classical Guitar Ensemble. Influenced by his elder brother’s taste in music, he was introduced to Led Zeppelin, The Yardbirds, Jethro Tull, Pink Floyd, Deep Purple, and Cream during this period, which would all became influences on Steve’s playing and sound.

The 1980’s was when the ‘rock band’ bug bit, and Steve played in a number of Perth’s commercial and original pub bands before ending up in New South Wales for a stint. Returning to Perth, Steve studied art and design before working a ‘day gig’ for the next 25 or so years. But the ‘bug’ bit again, and Steve is back doing what he loves, while also undertaking the visual design work for the band.
